Bill on
"Freaks and Geeks"
Martin Starr plays Bill, a tall geek who, despite his stereotypical thick
glasses and nerdish demeanor, really isn't all that smart. Starr, on the
other hand, is an accomplished young actor who has appeared in dozens
of commercials since the age of 6 and has studied at Los Angeles' School
of the Performing Arts."
"It's a lot of fun playing Bill," admits Starr. "He's the kind of guy
who really never bothers anyone and just wants to be left alone. But when
he is forced into a situation against his will, like with a school bully,
you want to root for him because hešs the ultimate underdog."
Starr first became interested in acting after watching his mother, Jean,
work as an actress. He quickly found work in national ads for companies
like Tropicana, Levis, and McDonalds. Starr has also appeared in the films
"Arcade" and "Night Skies," as well as "Hero," with Geena Davis and Andy
Garcia.
Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Starr enjoys all kinds of
sports, including swimming, bike riding, tennis, basketball and soccer,
among others. His birthday is July 30, 1982.
